With Manchester City leading 1-0 into the final minutes of the game, Leicester City substitute Kelechi Iheanacho had the opportunity to snatch a point for the Foxes against his former club only for him to drag his shot wide when through on goal.
In his post-match press conference shortly after the game, former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was delighted with the way his players performed against Manchester City.
According to him, Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho had the best chance of the game and he should have done better on his favourite left foot.
Manchester City had earlier taken the lead in the 70th minute through a stunning striker from club skipper Vincent Kompany off an assist from centre back partner Aymeric Laporte.
The Citizens knew they had to win the game to go back above title rivals Liverpool in the keenly contested race for the Premier League trophy and that was exactly what they did.
The win takes Manchester City one point above Liverpool with one game left as Brendan Rodgers failed to do his former team a big favour in the title race.
