Brazilian Legend Backs Liverpool For Premier League Title

Brazilian legend Pele (Edson Arantes Do Nascimento) has thrown his weight behind Liverpool ahead of defending champions Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

Pele backed the Reds for the league title during his birthday message to club legend Kenny Dalglish via his official Twitter handle on Monday.

Liverpool fans would be worried about the prediction from Pele who has a knack for getting his predictions wrong.

Pele has backed Liverpool despite the fact that the Reds have lost the top spot on the Premier League table after their disappointing goalless draw at Everton.

In the 200th Merseyside Derby league meeting at the weekend, Liverpool squandered the best chances of the game to play out a scoreless draw with the Toffees who were happy to derail their title challenge.

Liverpool started the weekend at the Premier League summit before they were usurped by Manchester City on Saturday evening after substitute Riyad Mahrez scored the only of the game to give the Citizens a 1-0 away win over Bournemouth.

A win over Everton would have taken Liverpool back to the Premier League summit.

The Everton draw means that five-time European champions Liverpool trail Manchester City by one point with nine games to go.
