Chelsea Boss Shuts Down Transfer Rumours For England Striker

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has shut down transfer reports of a possible Blues transfer for in-form Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson when the transfer window reopens next month.

Italian tactician Sarri spoke about Callum Wilson and a possible move to Chelsea during his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of the weekend’s game in the Premier League.

Sarri and Chelsea host Leicester City in a Matchweek 18 league clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

When asked about Callum Wilson, Maurizio Sarri responded by saying that he does not want to talk about him before adding that the Blues won’t sign the recently capped England international.

Sarri went on to joke that he doesn’t want to make his friend and Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe unhappy.

Earlier reports in the British media had revealed that Chelsea were preparing a £30m bid for the 26-year-old English striker as they try to solve their striking problems.

The Chelsea striking duo of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have misfired for the West London giants this season.
Both players have scored just 11 goals between them.

In contrast, Callum Wilson has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 16 league games this season.

His Bournemouth form led to a first invitation to the England squad last month.
