Timo Werner Target Drops Hints About Possible Anfield Transfer Soon

RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner has made it known he harbours the thoughts of leaving the Bundesliga club for a ‘big club’, naming Anfield as a possible destination.

Werner scored 21 goals in the German top flight last term to help his current side get a Champions League ticket after finishing in the second position behind League winners Bayern Munich.

The Germany international has made an impressive start to the current season with four goals for his club, and he also scored three goals in two games for Germany during the last international break.

The 21-year-old is understood to be atop target on Jurgen Klopp’s summer wish list, and he has suggested he would be interested to follow his RB Leipzig teammate Naby Keita to Liverpool.

Speaking to SportBild, Timo says he desires to play at a big club, and that many developments are currently occurring at RB Leipzig that might make the club be regarded as a ‘big club’ too very soon.

The German striker mentioned Liverpool as one of the big clubs in England, alongside Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United and Manchester City.

And according to him:

‘They [Liverpool] are a big club with a great stadium and super fans’

The youngster won the Golden Boot for his country at the Confederations Cup earlier this summer and will surely add value to whichever club he will play for.
