Manchester United have nearing a potential summer deal for Paris Saint Germain full-back, Serge Aurier, according to reports in The Sun.
The Ivorian defender is however subject to the outcome of a court ruling over his ban from entering the United Kingdom after being convicted of assault in May.
Aurier who found guilty of assaulting a police officer during a nightout in Paris, France after he was stopped to take a breath test, was unable to travel with the rest of the Paris Saint Germain squad for their Champions League game against Arsenal last November.
The defender has appealed against the conviction and will have to wait till August 7 to know the outcome of his application which could be a deciding factor in his deal to Manchester United.
It is understood that PSG told Aurier that he is free to join another club following the arrival of Dani Alves from Juventus earlier this summer.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be on the look for a new right-back that would succeed ageing Antonio Valencia at the Old Trafford.
Having failed in his bid to sign Fabinho, United will hope to succeed in their efforts to sign Aurier who possess strength and explosive power that could fit in well in their style of play.
