Video: Going back in history – How Liverpool players celebrated in the dressing room after lifting the UCL in 2005

The UEFA champions league is considered the biggest trophy to be won by football clubs in Europe.

While some football clubs have lifted the trophy several times, some other clubs are yet to lift it.

The last time Liverpool lifted the much adored UEFA champions league trophy was back in 2005, almost 13 years ago.

Liverpool lifted the trophy during the reign of Stephen Gerrard, Carragher among others.

2005 Champions league final had taken place between Liverpool and Italian side, AC Milan.

AC Milan was leading the match with 3 goals to nothing in the first half but Liverpool took their chances in the second half with Gerrard adding the first goal for the Reds.

The match ended in a 3 – 3 draw and led to penalty kicks,  Liverpool eventually won.

Jurgen Klopp was close to breaking the 13-year-old record last season -The Reds made it to the final of the Champions League before they were defeated by Spanish side Real Madrid.
