Unai Emery warned against January transfer target

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been warned against signing Borussia Dortmund star player Julian Weigl in the winter transfer window.

Arsenal were already linked with the midfielder with reports that a deal might be finalized in coming weeks.

The Gunners will be short of players following the injury of England international striker Danny Welbeck.

The Gunners head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is reported to be ready to influence the deal for Julian Weigl knowing that he once worked with the German Bundesliga.

However, Gunners legend Stewart Robson said there is no need bringing in a new midfielder to the Emirates Stadium despite the expected exit of Wales international Aaron Ramsey stressing that they have got a number of options.

He noted that the Spanish manager has got Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to fill the space that will be left by the former Cardiff international.

Ramsey failed to agree on a new deal with his current employers as his demand for an improved weekly wage was rejected by the club.

However, it has been reported that Ramsey will be immortalized at the club as his name would be written as a legend of the North London club.
