Title Race: Brighton Defender Keen To Act As Man City Spoiler To Favour Liverpool

Brighton and Hove Albion defender Shane Duffy has revealed that the plan is to act as a part spoiler when the Seagulls entertain holders Manchester City in the final game of the season.

Duffy spoke about the title race in a chat with The Guardian.

According to him, the Brighton players are prepared to deny Manchester City the result they need to win the Premier League title for the second successive season.

Manchester City will lose the league title if they fail to get the three points at stake against the Seagulls and rivals Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at home.

Liverpool would be hoping that Shane Duffy and his teammates do them a big favour by getting at least a point against Brighton.

The Reds will have to win their home game against Wolves to capitalise on any slip-up from Manchester City in their quest to end their long wait for a league title.

Liverpool have not won a league title since the 1989/90 season.

On their part, Manchester City are chasing a treble on the domestic front.

The Citizens have already won the Carabao Cup title and they could add both the Premier League title and the FA Cup title in the next week.
