Time Up: Chelsea Target Needs To Leave Bayern

Bayern Munich forward James Rodriguez has been told to leave the club when the transfer window reopens in summer.

According to Bayern Munich legend Stefan Effenberg, it’s the right time for James Rodriguez to leave the Bavarian giants in search of greener pastures.

In his column with T-Online, the former Bayern Munich midfielder said that the Colombian international star has to leave Bayern Munich to have fun while playing football again.

James Rodriguez is on a two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid and that loan contract will expire at the end of this season.

The Real Madrid loanee has completed 90 minutes on just three occasions this season as he has failed to convince Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac that he deserves more playing time at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich are not willing to take up the option of signing him permanently at the end of his loan spell and he’s expected to return to parent club Real Madrid this summer.

James Rodriguez has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League with clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

The Blues have serious doubts over star player Eden Hazard and James Rodriguez could represent a proven replacement for him if he leaves Stamford Bridge this summer though Chelsea will have to scale through the two-window ban handed to them by FIFA before any player can be signed.
