Reason Behind Late Liverpool Winners Revealed

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has revealed the reason behind the late winners witnessed at Anfield this season following the last-minute victory over Champions League chasers Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

In his post-match reaction to the game as monitored by Goal, Andy Robertson credited the Liverpool belief for the late winners for the Reds in the Premier League.

The Scottish national team skipper played his part for Liverpool in the slim win over Spurs.

He provided the assist for the opening goal scored by Roberto Firmino in the 13th minute for his ninth this term.

Both Liverpool fullbacks of Robertson and Trent Alexandre-Arnold have a Premier League record of 15 assists between them.

Lucas Moura scored in the second half to cancel out the opening goal from Firmino before the last-minute error from Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris gave the hosts the three points at stake.

Liverpool had earlier benefitted from a goalkeeping error in added time on the part of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford during the first Merseyside Derby meeting in the Premier League this term.

Substitute Divock Origi pounced on the Pickford error to give Liverpool a 1-0 win over Everton at home with virtually the last kick of the game.

The late win over Spurs ensured that Liverpool finished the weekend at the Premier League summit.
