Niko Kovac Rules Out January Exit For Liverpool Target

Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has dismissed transfer rumours hinting towards a January exit for midfielder James Rodriguez.

Colombian international star James Rodriguez has been linked with a move from the Allianz Arena with clubs like Arsenal and Premier League table toppers Liverpool.

The former FC Porto and AS Monaco playmaker is on a two-year loan deal at German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich from European champions Real Madrid have joined the Bavarian giants at the start of last season.

He has just six months left on the loan contract though Bayern have the option to make the transfer a permanent one upon its expiration in the summer.

Earlier reports had claimed that James Rodriguez could leave the club in the current January transfer window after falling out of favour with Croatian tactician Niko Kovac.

Addressing those rumours in a recent interview, Niko Kovac revealed that James Rodriguez wants to stay at the club beyond this month and that the player confirmed his desire to stay with Bayern Munich at a recent fan event.
