Serie A Giant In Talks To Sign £37m Liverpool Target

Italian Serie A giants Napoli are reportedly in talks to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez according to the latest reports emanating from the media in Italy.

James Rodriguez is attracting serious interest from Napoli who are keen to secure his signing this summer.

According to a publication from popular Italian transfer news portal Corriere dello Sport, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has initiated talks with Real Madrid over the possibility of signing the former FC Porto and AS Monaco playmaker.

Napoli are keen to halt the eight-year dominance of Italian champions Juventus ahead of next season under the guidance of manager Carlo Ancelotti and the club is keen to invest in the signing of quality players like James Rodriguez.

The Colombian is surplus to requirement at Real Madrid this summer with the Los Merengues ready to sanction his exit permanently for just £37m which would be a club-record fee for Napoli.

James Rodriguez recently ended his two-year loan spell at German champions Bayern Munich whom he joined in the summer of 2017.

The Bavarian giants had the option to make the move permanent at the end of his loan spell but the five-time European champions decided against it.

James Rodriguez won two league titles and one German Cup trophy while he was a Bayern Munich player.
