Liverpool prepare to snatch long-time Manchester United target

According to reports in Germany, Liverpool are willing to make a late transfer move to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches.

Sanchez burst onto limelight at the 2016 European Championship but has since dropped into the Under-21 team due to a lack of playing time after joining Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich last summer.

The highly rated starlet is still attracting interest from the top clubs like AC Milan and Manchester United, and seem ready be made available for a season long loan before the summer transfer window closes.

Kicker are reporting that the Reds have joined the long list of suitors for the Portuguese starlet and are willing to approach him after successfully making it to the UEFA Champions League group stages.

So far, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has only signed three new players, striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea, Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson, and wants to reinforce further.

Bayern Munich, with a lot of players in central midfield, are looking to offload the youngster as he is unlikely to get game time he wants this very season at the club, with a loan move the most likely option.

The Reds have been in the transfer market for a new central midfielder, making Naby Keita of RB Leipzig a priority transfer target, and Sanches could be an alternative.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has previously tried to sign the Portuguese, who he shares an agent, Jorge Mendes.
