Klopp Transfer Stance On ‘Wanted’ De Ligt Revealed

Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt has been attracting the interest of several major European sides including Premier League title contenders Liverpool.

De Ligt, 19, is one of the most sought after players in European football ahead of the resumption of the transfer window in the summer.

His stock rose further towards the end of last year when he was named the recipient for the 2018 Golden Boy Award.

Liverpool have been linked with him and the Reds’ interest in him has now been confirmed by The Sun who revealed the stance of manager Jurgen Klopp on a possible transfer for the talented De Ligt.

It was revealed that German tactician Klopp wants to sign the Dutch international centre back as a partner for Virgil Van Dijk.

Matthijs De Ligt and Virgil Van Dijk are no stranger to each other as both players have formed a very good centre back partnership for the Dutch national team.

Van Dijk has played with four centre backs this season including midfielder Fabinho.

He has also featured alongside Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren at centre back but he has not been able to form a consistent defensive partnership with anyone.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Arsenal are all interested in the £75m-rated player.
