Failed Transfer: How Man Utd Missed Out On Liverpool Target Revealed

Three-time European champions Manchester United failed with a move for highly rated attacker Julian Brandt according to the publication from the Manchester Evening News (MEN).

It was revealed that the Red Devils made an inquiry for Julian Brandt last week and they were told that the young German international player will join Borussia Dortmund.

Julian Brandt left Bayer Leverkusen for Borussia Dortmund earlier this week in a deal worth around €25m.

The German attacker was previously linked with Premier League title contenders Liverpool with reports claiming that the Reds will sign the player but that turned out to be wide off the mark.

Julian Brandt had a phenomenal season for Bayer Leverkusen as he helped the club seal a return to Champions League football for next season but that was not enough to keep him at the club.

He scored 10 goals and also weighed in with a whopping 17 assists for Bayer Leverkusen during the just concluded season.

Bayer Leverkusen secured Champions League football ahead of the likes of Borussia Moenchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Julian Brandt signed for Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday thereby becoming their third signing of the season after Thorgan Hazard (from Borussia Moenchengladbach) and Nico Schulz (from TSG Hoffenheim).
