Confirmed: Chelsea Loanee Wants Atletico Madrid Stay

Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata wants to stay at the Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid beyond this summer.

In his recent interview as monitored by Goal, Spanish international Morata revealed that he wants to stay at Atletico Madrid for the rest of his career.

Alvaro Morata is on loan at Atletico Madrid from Chelsea having joined the Rojiblancos during the winter transfer window earlier this year.

The former Juventus star joined Atletico Madrid on loan for 18 months and the Spaniards will pay £13.8m for him to stay at the club for next season.

He left Chelsea to sign for Atletico Madrid in January after enduring a bleak spell at Stamford Bridge.

Morata became a Chelsea player in the summer of 2017 after completing a then club-record transfer from Real Madrid.

The Los Merengues were said to have been paid around £60m for his transfer but he didn’t live up to that price tag in West London bar the first few months.

Alvaro Morata started his Chelsea career well at the beginning of last season before he faded badly just before winter and never recovered until his exit.

Chelsea replaced him with Gonzalo Higuain who joined on a short-term loan from Italian champions Juventus with the option of a permanent deal for £36m.
