PSG In Loan Bid To Sign Ex-Liverpool Star

French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are said to be plotting a loan deal for Barcelona flop Philippe Coutinho with an option to buy him permanently next summer.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, PSG have concluded plans to rescue Coutinho from his hellish career at Barcelona.

The former Liverpool playmaker has spent a largely frustrating 18 months at the Nou Camp.

PSG want to unite him with Brazilian pal Neymar who’s a subject of transfer speculation with clubs like former side Barcelona and Real Madrid mentioned.

The French champions are hoping to raise funds for the ex-Liverpool star by selling both Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier this summer.

Both Cavani and Meunier have one year left on their respective contracts.

The two players might leave PSG this summer though they have expressed their wish to stay beyond this summer.

Belgian right-back Meunier has been attracting the interest of Premier League giants Manchester United while Uruguayan international Cavani has been touted as a possible transfer addition to the Atletico Madrid squad.

Barcelona will let Coutinho leave the club if they can get at least £89m for him according to the aforementioned publication.

The Catalans signed the player in a £142m deal from Liverpool and it includes a £17m payment if he plays 100 games for Barcelona and the Spaniards are keen to avoid that by selling him this summer.
