According to reports, Premier League Champions Chelsea and North London club Arsenal weigh up transfers for former Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

The 27-year-old safe hand has played at the Anfield Stadium for five years. However, most of his playing time at the Merseyside club was spent out on loans and could not make it to the senior team for Liverpool in 2013.

The Hungarian international is presently playing for German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig as the first-choice safe hand helping the side last season to finish the campaign as the German Bundesliga runner-ups.

As per ESPN, London rivals of Chelsea and Arsenal both sent scouts to keep a close watch on Gulacsi in action as his Bundesliga club Leipzig lost 2-0 to Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich last weekend.

Arsenal are hunting for a replacement for Petr Cech following his recent poor performances, while the Premier League champions are starting a tentative search around the transfer market as they get set for Belgian Thibaut Courtois possible transfer to La Liga Champions Real Madrid.

The goalkeeper joined the German Bundesliga club for a transfer fee of about £2.6million two seasons ago.

Meanwhile, Merseyside giant Liverpool are also finding it hard in goal with goalkeeper Loris Karius and Belgian Simon Mignolet both not impressing manager Jurgen Klopp. However, the German boss is unlikely to join his League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal to seal the services of Peter Gulacsi.
