Former English Premier league (EPL) player, Jermaine Jenas, who played for teams like Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspurs has stated that the Manchester United team and their new signings are finally starting to gel as a unit.
Jenas said this while he was talking about the Red Devils’ clash with Everton, which ended 1-1, at the Goodison Park adding that manager Jose Mourinho had been waiting for new recruits such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba to start forging positive relationships on the field of play.
“Mkhitaryan adds a different dimension.”
“I thought Pogba was brilliant with his runs from midfield.
It feels like the players are starting to build a relationship.
“Their movement, their one-touch passing was breaking down at the final phase.
“Mourinho’s been waiting for these world-class players to click.
“And it’s now starting to happen. Things are more fluid.
“Things are happening without the United players thinking about it.” he concluded.
The point against Everton took the 20-time English champion’s point tally to 21 points from the first 14 league games of the season however they are still a long way off from the leading pack. United are 13 points off leaders Chelsea and 9 points off city rivals Manchester City, who occupy the last UEFA Champions League (UCL) place.
