The report hinted that Tottenham are already beating the Blues to the race to sign the young midfielder.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Donny van de Beek as a better replacement for their ageing midfielders.
The Blues want to sign Van de Beek as a replacement for an ageing Cesc Fabregas, who has been linked with moves to Italian club, AC Milan.
While Tottenham Hotspur want to sign the young midfielder as a replacement for Moussa Dembele, who is likely to move to Inter Milan or the Chinese Super League.
Apart from Chelsea and Tottenham, German club Bayern Munich and Italian club, AS Roma have also shown interest in Donny van de Beek.
The Netherlands international came close to the limelight following his performance in the Uefa Champions League this season.
Chelsea are not likely to make the move for him even if Cesc Fabregas leaves in January, this is because Stamford Bridge is already stockpiled with numerous midfielder.
