Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made it known he has a good relationship with Ander Herrera at Old Trafford.
Herrera was an influential member of Jose Mourinho’s squad last season and was crowned the best player at the club at the end of the campaign.
This season, however, the Spain international has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at the club, with Mourinho preferring the duo of Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini ahead of the Spaniard.
Ander has only made four starts in his side’s first 10 Premier League matches – a number which could have been fewer if not for the injuries of both Pogba and Fellaini.
Jose publicly questioned the player’s post-match statements after his side’s defeat to Huddersfield Town in September, which led to speculations that the Spanish midfielder is no longer in the good books of the Portuguese manager at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, the former Chelsea boss has revealed that things are still going very well between him and the player, dismissing rumours about a fallout between them.
While speaking at a news conference before the Chelsea game on Sunday, Jose insists he loves his players and blamed the media for trying to make a fuss about everything.
“I do not know where you get this kind of stories. But yes, I am happy.” the manager said.
