Monaco star player Fabinho was very much linked with a move away from the Ligue I club during the summer transfer window after emerging as a target for some top clubs across Europe including premier league heavyweights Manchester United.

A move couldn’t, however, materialise before the closure of the window, and former Arsenal player Robert Pires has now predicted that the player could complete a move to Old Trafford in the upcoming January transfer window.

The talented midfielder has impressed across his three seasons at his current side, and his impressive performances have caught the attention of some of the big guys in the continent.

Despite interests from top sides like Arsenal and Manchester City, the Samba star chose to remain with Monaco for the 2017/18 campaign.

And Arsenal legend Pires believes it is only a matter of time before the versatile player will move to England to play in the premier league.

When he was asked about the possibility of Man United getting Fabinho’s signature, he told Bwin (via Mirror) that anything could happen in the winter transfer window.

Pires’ former manager Arsene Wenger made a £90million move for another Monaco star player – Thomas Lemar – during the summer window, but the Frenchman also remained with the Ligue I champions.

And also speaking about the situation, Robert feels Arsenal’s hopes of signing Lemar may be over.

“I don’t think the move will happen now.” he said.
