Manchester United made it known a few days back that a deal has been agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk for Brazilian midfielder Fred.
However, the red devils have officially unveiled the talented player, and he is now registered by the club.
The Manchester City rival announced the deal on Thursday afternoon, half a month after confirming that they have agreed to a transfer fee with his club
Sky Sports are reporting that Jose Mourinho’s side have now sorted out the player’s work permit and have finalised personal terms with him.
The South American star is playing in Russia with the rest of his countrymen representing Brazil at the World Cup, and we look forward to seeing the method Manchester United will adopt playing him alongside Paul Pogba.
After the deal was completed, Jose Mourinho revealed why he was eager to sign the prolific playmaker.
“Fred will complement our other midfielders’ qualities, which we need; his creative brain and passing vision will give us another dimension to our game,” the United boss said.
The Old Trafford club are however expected to sign a second midfielder before the start of next season, as Belgium international Marouane Fellaini is set to depart this month.
Manchester United have been linked with some other talented midfielders like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Marco Verratti in recent times, and the fans are expecting more positive updates.
