Chelsea Could Lose Impressive Left-back To Barcelona

Outgoing Premier League Champions Chelsea could be saying their farewell greetings to their influential left-back Marcos Alonso in the summer as Barcelona are heavily linked with a move for his signature.

The Spanish international who made his debut for Spain against the Netherlands in the last international break is being tracked by the Catalans who are hoping to sign him as a replacement for Gerrard Pique, who would be leaving the club by the end of the season.

According goal.com, the 27-year-old has been a longtime target for Valverde and the Argentine manager is ready to do all he could to ensure Alonso move to Camp Nou in the summer.

Goal further suggests that snatching Alonso from the Blues could be a huge task for the Copa Del Rey Champions as the Roman Abramovich seems not ready to partway with the former Barcelona academy product.

Since his move to Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina last season, the former Sunderland outcast has been impressive for the Blues and he has been named in the PFA team of the season despite Chelsea’s awful display throughout the campaign.
