There could be a possible return to Old Trafford for West Brom veteran defender Jonny Evans as he is reportedly one of Mourinho’s prime targets in the summer.
The former United defender is a standout player for the Baggies this season despite the team’s horrible performances throughout the campaign.
José Mourinho is reportedly in the market for a very reliable and experienced defender in the summer so as to bolster his defensive abilities ahead of next season and he can get all of that in the Northern Irish player.
It should be recalled that Evans was treated badly by former Manchester United and Netherland national team coach Louis Van Gaal when he forced him out of the club in 2015 after leaving him out of the team’s starting lineup despite the player’s impressive showings.
According to Metro, the 31-year-old, who is valued at £12m by transfermarkt, could see his financial worth depreciate to as low as £3m should West Brom fail to avoid being relegated to the Championship league by the close of the season.
Mourinho will have to compete with his North London Rivals Arsenal, for his signature as the Gunners outgoing manager Arsene Wenger remain keen on luring him to the Emirates stadium.
Meanwhile, Mourinho has called on the fans to give Arsene Wenger his deserved respect when his team battle Arsenal on Saturday. T
he Portuguese manager will face one of his greatest rival at Old Trafford in the season’s penultimate match on Saturday.
