The Chelsea star forward and Belgium international believes he does not need to move to La Liga before he can win the prestigious golden ball.
He added that after his side win the Premier League title this season, he will have one eye on the Ballon d’Or.
For the past nine years, the prestigious award has been shared between the La Liga duo of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. And if any of them should win it again in 2017, it will mean the duo have dominated the Golden Ball for 10 years.
And Hazard, speaking to Sky Sports ahead of his side’s title deciding game against West Brom on Friday, believes the Balloon d’Or can be won by a player in England, and that he personally hopes winning it one day.
He noted that even though the Ballon d’Or winners play in Spain in the last ten years, it is not something automatic – and if there is a better player in England, he will win it.
According to him, if he could help Chelsea win the Champions League next season and win the World Cup with his national side Belgium, then he could be on the way to winning it.
Even though Eden missed out on the PFA Player of the Year award to his team-mate at Chelsea N’Golo Kante this term, he continues playing a pivotal role in Antonio Conte’s success.
