Arsenal are reportedly confident in having the signature Porto’s midfielder Hector Herrera despite the delay as they await when his contract winds up at the club.
Report says the North London side will not face lots of competition with Crystal Palace as the only contender for the Portugal based player if reports by Sports Witness is anything to go by.
The 28-year-old is believed to be seeing his last days with the Portuguese giants and he has not been handed a new deal with no talks on the table at the moment.
This, therefore, means he might be leaving Porto as a free player in the summer with the Gunners as the leading contender for his signature.
Hector Herrera is rated very high in the Portuguese league having played an important role in his side’s feat this season as they have lost just once in 12 games across all competitions.
He has been tipped to be an asset to any club that eventually has his signature with no possibility of him staying in Portugal after the current campaign.
Hector Herrera will be a good addition to the North London side as they seek to strengthen their attack especially with the expected departure of Wales international Aaron Ramsey at the end of the season.
