Freddie Woodman

It has been reported that Arsenal are paying attention to Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman with the view of having his signature in January once the winter transfer window reopens.

The Gunners are understood to be preparing for life after Petr Cech who is already ageing and will need someone who will serve as a cover but will come now to understudy him at the club.

However, talkSPORT reports that The North London side will face competition from EFL Championship outfits Leeds United and the Scottish club Celtic who are all keen to have his services as well.

The Gunners are reportedly not worried about the fact that Freddie Woodman is yet to break into the first team of the Newcastle team despite the quality performances he has been able to pull through but they are seeking to have him as a player for the future at trey Emirates Stadium.

Freddie Woodman has shown great character both on and off the pitch which has attracted bigger teams across England to seek for his service.

Meanwhile, the Gunners team recruited Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno in the summer and he has won the heart of the manager to become the first choice goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium.
