Arsenal manager Unai Emery is believed to have found his defensive solution in Spanish La Liga outfit Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero, according to reports.
The Spanish boss is, therefore, making efforts to ensure Fernando Calero’ signature in the winter transfer window which reopens in the coming weeks.
With Rob Holding already sidelined for the rest of the season as a result of the knee injury he sustained in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United and Konstantinos Mavropanos also sidelined alongside French international Laurent Koscielny, there is a need for a replacement to help execute the second half of the season which starts in January.
Fernando Calero has so far been impressive for the Valladolid side and that is why they have conceded an average of a goal per game in the current season.
At 22 years of age, he is considered as one of the biggest potentials in the Spanish La Liga which makes him a good fit for the Gunners team
However, manager Unai Emery is keen to have Fernando Calero join the North London side where he can also continue his development as a young talent.
Fernando Calero who has a contract with his owners until the end of the season has a release clause of about £10 million which will not be a big deal for the North London side to meet.
