Following weeks of speculations, linking Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba to Barcelona, an official statement has now been made by the Spanish side.
Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre said the door is opened for the Frenchman to switch over to Spain.
Citing reasons for his statement, the Catalan boss said he is disturbed about reports that the World Cup winner is unhappy in England and that his side are ready to rescue him.
The La Liga champions, therefore, maintained that they are yet to have a word with Pogba as they do not speak with players who are still under contract with their clubs.
Mestre noted that he is aware of the effort by Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola to secure him a deal, expressing readiness of the club to do business under right conditions.
He praised Pogba’s ‘unquestionable’ qualities which according to him are known by everyone in the world.
Barcelona striker, Luiz Suarez has also urged the player to consider a move to Spain, stressing that he will be welcomed at the club.
The Frenchman played a significant role in helping his country win the Russia 2018 World Cup that was held in June.
There are also speculations that Pogba could return to Juventus, from where he had a transfer to United.
