Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari is reportedly eyeing a free transfer move for Manchester United midfielder Juan Manuel Mata at the end of the season.
This is according to the publication from El Gol Digital.
It was further revealed that Solari sees Mata as a replacement for compatriot Isco.
The Real Madrid midfielder could leave the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the New Year after falling out of favour with the aforementioned Santiago Solari.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid.
Premier League sides like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea are said to be interested in him.
Isco was seen as one of the Real Madrid players that will step up to fill the void created by the summer exit of Cristiano Ronaldo to Italian giants Juventus but the former Malaga playmaker has failed to live up to that expectation.
His place at Real Madrid could be taken by Mata who has just six months left on his present contract with Manchester United.
The Red Devils are likely to offer him a new deal but Mata is not willing to sign a new contract as reported by the publication above.
Mata has previously been touted as a potential transfer to clubs like Arsenal and Valencia.
