Reports say Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to send young midfielder Sheyi Ojo on loan to Championship club Middlesbrough.

According to Liverpool Echo, both Middlesbrough and Newcastle have approached Liverpool with an offer to take Ojo on loan, with the Liverpool manager leaning towards Middlesbrough option in the belief that playing under Garry Monk would benefit Ojo in the long-term.

The youngster played two matches for the Reds in the FA Cup last campaign but did not play a Premier League match.

The starlet is in demand following his splendid performances for England at the recently concluded Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Reports indicated that Burnley also expressed interest in signing the 20-year-old, but the Reds are keen to avoid a situation where Ojo goes out on loan and gets no or minimal football playing time.

The Independent reported a month ago that Ojo was keen on joining Championship side Newcastle, who are managed by Rafael Benitez.

The Liverpool boss has strengthened his attacking line this current summer with the signings of Egyptian Mohamed Salah from Italian side AS Roma and Dominic Solanke from Premier League club Chelsea.

Liverpool are scheduled to play another pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic on the 14th of July before jetting off to the Far East for their annual pre-season tour.
