Following their most recent win in the premier league last weekend, Manchester United remain unbeaten this season so far, and Danny Murphy has favoured them to the premier league title ahead of Man City.

The red devils earned a 1-0 win over Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday – although they have to labour vehemently to get all three points from the game.

They have now been able to take 16 points from a possible 18 in the English top flight so far this term, and are still flying on fire.

However, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are still topping the table over Jose Mourinho’s side on goal difference. But after watching Man United’s performances against Southampton on Saturday, Danny thinks the Old Trafford club will eventually emerge title champions at the end of this season.

The red devils have been greatly helped by new striker Romelu Lukaku who is still on fire after scoring a brace during his debut for his new club. The Belgium international has scored six times so far in the premier league and has been able to beat the stats of some of United’s legends – including Eric Cantona and Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

His goal in the 20th minute at St Mary’s ensured his side could get away with all three points despite a tough game.

Man United will be travelling to Russia for their next Champions League game against CSK Moscow on Wednesday.
