According to reports emanating from Spain, Chelsea and Manchester United are both closely keeping tabs on Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba.
Premier League duo battle for defender
Spanish media publication Sport is claiming that the English Premier League duo are looking at the likelihood of signing the 29-year-old defender.
The same report says that the Blues and the Red Devils have been closely tracking the Spain international defender for some time.
As per the same report, the English sides see Jordi Alba as a player good enough to adapt to the rigours of English Premier League football.
The Spain international defender has been a key part of the Barcelona squad that have enjoyed in mess success under former boss Luis Enrique and current tactician Ernesto Valverde in the last four or five campaigns.
Serial winner
The Spaniard has won four Spanish La Liga titles, the UEFA Champions League and four Spanish Copa del Rey crowns during the players six-year spell at the Catalan club.
Alba has scored 12 goals in 247 matches across all competitions for Barcelona following his transfer to Nou Camp from rivals Valencia back in 2012.
The FA Cup winner have used Spain defender Marcos Alonso at left-back over the last one year, while Premier League giants Man United are short on alternatives in the position considering Jose Mourinho’s reluctance to play Luke Shaw.
