Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly slapped a €70m (£62m) asking price on controversial striker Mauro Icardi amidst the serious interest from rivals Juventus.

The latest development concerning Inter Milan striker Icardi was revealed by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mauro Icardi was previously linked with West London giants Chelsea last summer shortly after Maurizio Sarri was appointed the Blues boss but the move did not materialize.

Chelsea are in need of a new striker following the exit of Gonzalo Higuain after his loan spell came to an end this summer and Mauro Icardi could have been an option for the Stamford Bridge club but they have to sort out the two-window transfer ban hanging over their head.

Inter Milan want to sell Mauro Icardi this summer after the Argentine international player was deemed surplus to requirements.

Mauro Icardi has had to deal with several issues at Inter Milan in the last few months ranging from stalled contract talks to being dropped as the team captain and so on.

New Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has requested for the signing of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku who’s the top transfer target for the Nerazzurri in their quest to sign a replacement for the aforementioned Mauro Icardi.
