Real Madrid are trying a last-ditch attempt to lure Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea to the Santiago Bernabeu, according to reports.

The Spaniard has been a subject of interest from Real for a long time, and even came close to joining them in 2015; the keeper has since then been linked to make an audacious move to the Bernabeu this summer.

Reports in the Sun claim that Real Madrid who were linked with a move for AS Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe and have turned their attentions to signing De Gea.

Real’s interest for the United keeper has been a longstanding issue in the current transfer window with various reports indicating that the 26-year-old has held talks with the Champions League holders but would not be fancying a move this summer.

Having shift gaze from signing Mbappe, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has reignited interest in signing their long-term target, David De Gea and could submit a bid believed to be in the region of £46million for the keeper.

However, Jose Mourinho had earlier claimed that his number one is clearly focused on staying at the Old Trafford after granting him permission to speak with the La Liga champions during this summer.
