Arsenal and Liverpool leading the race to land 22-year-old forward – reports

According to several media reports, North London outfit Arsenal and rivals Liverpool are currently leading Serie A giant AC Milan in the transfer race to land Max Meyer from German Bundesliga side Schalke.

Transfer imminent

The 22-year-old German is expected to depart the Bundesliga outfit when the season ends and will certainly attract numerous interests from top European clubs, considering the top attributes that he has displayed.

Liverpool FC manager boss Jurgen Klopp is widely thought to be a big fan of the exciting player while Arsenal tactician Arsene Wenger is still in the transfer market to reinforce his young midfielder having brought in Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil to his team.

AC Milan keen

Italian Serie A side AC Milan have also been linked strongly as they look to reinstate themselves as a heavyweight of European football.

Calciomercato, however, have suggested that the youngster prefers his next side to be a Premier League team and this could give the gunners and the Reds an advantage in the transfer race to sign him.

The player has not been in the best shape this campaign; however, he is still a youth and is tagged as one of the best young talents in Europe.
