The Times football expert Paul Joyce has confirmed that Liverpool are on the lookout for a new midfielder – and it’s not Naby Keita.
RB Leipzig refused to change their stance of ‘none of our players will be sold this summer’ and not Liverpool’s big bids could make them have a change of heart.
It is however understood that Liverpool have moved on (even though there are speculations that they will come again for the Guinean next summer) putting their focus on other midfielders.
The future of both Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can at Anfield is yet to be known, and Adam Lallana is out for some months due to injuries.
And Paul said that even though the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is not feeling too inadequate with his current options, the German manager will bring in another midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.
This season will be a very busy one at Anfield, coupled with Champions League football, and Klopp needs more quality players in his squad to compete for the top four spot on the premier league table with stars-laden sides like Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Recently, Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri has been heavily linked with Liverpool following his impressive performances last season in the French top flight.
