Reigning European champions Real Madrid have agreed to a club-record deal for Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard according to the publication from The Sun.

Eden Hazard is a top transfer target for Real Madrid who want to rebuild the playing squad at the club after an average season.

It was revealed that Real Madrid have agreed on a £115m club-record deal for Belgian international Hazard mainly due to the intervention of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Senior Chelsea officials were driving a hard bargain before the said intervention of the Chelsea owner/Russian billionaire.

Chelsea had earlier slapped a £130m asking price on their star player but their stance has softened in recent times.

The Los Merengues will pay an initial fee of £100m plus £15m in achievable add-ons.

Real Madrid wanted to sign Hazard last summer but Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri persuaded him to stay at the club for this season before leaving following the appointment of the Italian tactician.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez also confirmed that the club tried to sign Eden Hazard in the past and that they will wait till the end of the Blues’ Europa League campaign before discussing a potential transfer for the player.

Eden Hazard has one year left on his current deal at Chelsea.
