According to reports, Arsenal could be ready to appoint former club captain Mikel Arteta as their new boss.
Arteta the preferred choice
As per Sky Sports, Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal Chief executive, might be set to recommend that Arsenal appoint their ex-skipper as their new boss.
The Gunners are searching for a new boss after long-serving boss Arsene Wenger announced that he will be leaving his role as manager at the end of the current season.
Spaniard Mikel Arteta is presently a part of the technical crew at recently crowned Premier League champions Manchester City, but the former Everton man he is being tipped to possibly replace Arsene Wenger at The Emirates Stadium.
Managerial replacement divides board
However, as per the same report, Arsenal’s head of football operations, Raul Sanllehi, believes that Ex-Barcelona tactician Luis Enrique is the appropriate man to lead the club forward.
Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann and Schalke manager Domenico Tedesco are also touted to take charge at The Emirates Stadium, as per the same report.
Meanwhile, the North London giants are currently getting prepared for the Europa League first leg semi-final encounter against Spanish side Atletico Madrid at The Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening.
Arsenal prepared for the crunch tie with a 4-1 victory over City rivals West Ham in the League last Sunday.
