According to reports, Arsenal are edging ever closer in their chase of France and Lyon forward Nabil Fekir, who has been in splendid form so far this season for the French club.

Arsenal step up interest

The Sun are claiming that Arsenal have stepped up their interest in the forward, with the Gunners sending a number of scouts to watch closely the player Lyon’s 5-2 victory against Dijon.

The news publication are also stating that Arsenal have been a big fan of Fekir for the past couple of years, and it seems the side are finally taking a huge step forward in their chase of the forward.

In 37 matches across all competitions this season, Fekir, 24, has managed to score 22 goals and made seven assists, which is undoubtedly a huge record.

One of the player’s biggest assets is his ability to be deployed in a number of positions, with Fekir having been deployed on both flanks, a central forward and a central attacking midfielder so far in his career.

Board working round the clock

With current long-serving manager Arsene Wenger set to step aside as manager of the North London club at the end of the current campaign, it looks like the Emiratas club are working round the clock to make his successor at the club is left with a team that’s capable of competing favourably for the English Premier League title next term.
