Chelsea seems to be winning the transfer race to land CSKA Moscow midfielder Alexsandr Golovin.
Playmaker linked with Euro top sides
Golovin, 22, has been heavily linked to Juventus, FC Barcelona and Arsenal over the last few weeks and months, but Mundo Deportivo has suggested that Chelsea are leading the race to secure Golovin’s services.
Blues Russian Billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is believed to have become keenly interested in the Russian international midfielder and is using his relationship with CSKA Moscow president Yevgeny Giner to complete a transfer deal for the exciting playmaker.
A transfer fee of £20m has reportedly been agreed between the two sides and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
The creative midfielder has spent his whole senior playing career with CSKA Moscow, finding the net 13 times in 113 matches for the Russian side in all competitions.
Deal could be sealed after world cup
He played his first match for the Russia national squad in an international friendly match against Belarus back in June 2015, coming from the substitute bench and netting the second goal in a 4–2 win.
Golovin is presently with the Russian national team at the ongoing FIFA World Cup and he played a major role in the opening round of matches of this summer’s global showpiece, netting a goal and assisting two more as the host nation defeated Saudi Arabia 5-0.
