According to reports, Liverpool and Tottenham have both submitted offers to complete the transfer of PSG midfielder Javier Pastore this winter transfer window.
The Argentina international attacker had seemed ready for a move to Serie A giant Inter Milan, but Gianluca Di Marzio suggests that is now in major doubt as negotiations over the deal look to stall.
The Italian publication suggests Inter Milan may have been looking to land Pastore on loan, while Paris Saint Germain are only looking to offload him this January, giving hope to Merseyside giants Liverpool and North London club Tottenham.
Having just offloaded Philippe Coutinho to La Liga giants FC Barcelona this transfer window, Liverpool could do with reinforcement in the attacking midfield position with a proven player like Pastore.
Pastore, 28, has shown major glimpses of top-class during his spell at the Parc des Princes, but has been less of a regular starter recently.
Still, he could surely do a job for the Reds in that all vital playmaker position, and Di Marzio suggests PSG have received bids from both Sours and Liverpool in the region of about £35million.
That looks like a good bargain for a player of Pastore’s calibre, so Liverpool supporters will be hoping they can seal this deal in the closing stages of the winter transfer window.
