Manchester United thrashed Yeovil Town 4-0 yesterday in the FA Cup – thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku.
And manager Jose Mourinho is very much pleased with the manner latest signing Alexis Sanchez helped his side with the victory.
The Chilean international played his first game as a Man United player on Friday night, and he helped his new club progress to the fifth round of the competition.
The former Barcelona man joined Manchester United on Monday and was able to provide an assist on his debut at Huish Park.
And speaking after the 4-0 victory, manager Jose Mourinho said Alexis is a ‘fantastic addition’ and that everyone at Old Trafford are happy seeing him at the club.
Mourinho also added that Sanchez proved his maturity and experience by making the run for the counter-attack that led to their second goal.
According to the Portuguese boss, a youngster like Marcus Rashford could be nervous making such decision at that point in time.
“I’m happy with [Alexis’] performance,” Jose said.
At Yeovil, Rashford scored the opener shortly before half-time while Sanchez’s counter-attack brought about Herrera’s goal some minutes later. Then the duo of Jesse and Romelu scored in injury-time to stamp the victory.
