Antonio Conte discloses Reason Alvaro Morata has been dropped recently

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has said he doesn’t know when summer signing Alvaro Morata will get back from something of a mysterious back damage that has kept the striker out in recent matches.

Mysterious injury

The Spain international striker is described by his tactician as having a mysterious pain in his back, which the side are working to find a solution to, though seemingly without a way out.

Alvaro Morata was seen as a good signing when he signed for Chelsea from La Liga Champions Real Madrid back in the summer, but he hasn’t got going yet at Stamford Bridge.

Poor Chelsea form

The Blues form has also taken a hit recently and they could surely do with all the players fit and available as they get prepared for the return of the UEFA Champions League this season.

With that in mind, Chelsea must also work on their Premier League form if they are to prevent the risk of losing out on top four this campaign after a recent poor run that has seen them lose 3-0 to AFC Bournemouth and 4-1 to Watford in consecutive games.

The Blues play West Brom in their next Premier League game on Monday night, and Alvaro Morata’s continued absence certainly presents the opportunity of the first start in attack for January intake Olivier Giroud.
