Phil Neville and Danny Murphy believe Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United could actually get better without Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini picked up an injury while playing for his national side during the recent international break and won’t be able to play for Man United when they clash with Liverpool at Anfield this Saturday.
The talented player has played an important role in Manchester United’s impressive start to the new campaign, and was present in all six of their premier league wins. The only match he wasn’t featured was the 0-0 draw with Southampton at St Mary’s a few weeks back, and he has been a good replacement for injured Pogba.
Despite all these, Manchester United former star player Gary Neville believes Marouane’s injury could really be a blessing in disguise for Jose Mourinho.
Speaking recently about his former side, Gary said Jose will change the make-up in his midfield and, according to him, ‘bringing Herrera in might be even better.’
Ander Herrera was named the club’s player of the year for the 2016/17 season, but has found his opportunities at the club limited at the start of this campaign. So far this season, he has been granted just one start in the Premier League.
And former Liverpool man Murphy also agrees with Neville that Herrera could be an upgrade on Marouane.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Danny notes that the Spaniard is a good player who brings energy and tenacity while playing on the pitch.
This means United fans shouldn’t be worried about Fellaini’s injury, as Herrera will definitely make things roll as he did last season.
