Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on replacing English left-back Luke Shaw at the end of this season, and it was reported that the Portuguese tactician has told the management to bring in Alex Sandro when the summer transfer window opens.
Shaw is set to leave Manchester United at the end of this campaign and the club has been linked with a handful of top players meant to replace him at Old Trafford, including Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur) and Kieran Tierney (Celtic).
However, Manchester Evening News made it known recently that manager Jose Mourinho has decided to sign Alex Sandro ahead of others.
The talented Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window after emerging as a target for not only Manchester United, but Chelsea too.
Last summer, the West London club reportedly took steps to bring Sandro down to Stamford Bridge, but Juventus blocked him from leaving Turin, before Chelsea signed Emerson Palmieri from Roma.
Alex remains an important member at Juventus. He has played close to 40 games this season so far, and he’s set to win another Serie A title with them.
At Old Trafford, Luke’s career appears to be drawing to a close. The former Southampton player keeps struggling for playing time, and it seems he can never find his way into Mourinho’s good books.
