Arsenal have moved ahead of their rivals in pursuit of Leicester City winger, Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.
The 26-year-old was tipped to leave the King Power last summer after helping his side to a historic Premier League title triumph, with reports of interest from several clubs in England and Arsenal being one of the suitors.
Riyad Mahrez snubbed transfer interest from several clubs in favour of a new deal with the Foxes but has failed to repeat his impressive feat with the club, sparking intense speculation from several clubs but it appears Arsenal have once again expressed their interest in Riyad Mahrez this summer.
It is understood that Leicester City will hold out for a fee around £35million for the winger, with the Ligue 1 champions, AS Monaco also believed to be battling for his signature but the Gunners have been tipped to complete a move for the creative winger.
‘If Monaco cannot pay and Riyad signs a new contract, it will not be below a minimum salary of €6m (£5.2million),’ a member of his entourage told Goal.
The Gunners have identified Mahrez as a quality addition to bolstering their ranks this summer as they hope to better their performances next season.
