Chelsea are allegedly set to beat Premier League rivals like Manchester United and Manchester City to the signature of Bayer Leverkusen star Benjamin Henrichs.

Promising young talent

Henrichs, 21, is considered a promising youngster in the German Bundesliga and is attracting a lot of interest ahead of the summer window if the latest rumour is anything to believe.

Capable of operating on both full-back positions, the defender generally prefers to play as a right back and could also be a great asset for the Blues if they can win the transfer race for his service.

As per the Sun, Chelsea are set to pay the £31m buyout clause in his deal as the club rate the defender very highly.

United also keen

Manchester United could also do with reinforcement in that position as they cannot continue to rely on the Antonio Valencia who is ageing, forever, so it could be important for the blues to get secure the transfer first.

The player is not a regular starter for the German side but has impressed enough to earn himself three international caps for the senior Germany national football team.

This could now earn the defender a swoop to one of the English Premier League’s giants this summer transfer window.
