According to The Times, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has snubbed reigning Premier League champions Chelsea by revealing that he is not keen on replacing Italian tactician head coach.
Simeone not keen on Chelsea job
The Argentine manager was one of Chelsea’s top targets to replace former Juventus head coach Antonio Conte, who is widely thought to leave the West London club when the current season ends by mutual consent.
Simeone wants to run out Atletico contract
But the 47-year-old Atletico manager has indicated that he plans to run out the last two-and-a-half seasons of his deal at the Spanish La Liga club, where the Argentine has been working since 2011.
The ex-Argentina international has told the defending Premier League champion via mediators that he does not want to be considered for the Blues job.
Prefer Latin lifestyle
He is believed to prefer a Latin lifestyle and is unwilling to put in the extra effort that would be required to get his spoken English up to the needful standards.
But he would allegedly consider an offer from Premier League giants Manchester United. United manager Jose Mourinho recently penned a new deal, but Diego Simeone is willing to succeed the Portuguese tactician at Old Trafford.
